In this part of our guide, we will tell you about 4 "scary" types of interviews, which many applicants consider simply a mockery of the personality, but this, of course, is not so. Secrets are revealed by Maria Antonova, Senior Recruiter Ten Square Games Wroclaw .
Good news about zoom

Due to Covid, many interviews are conducted remotely. For recruiters, this complicates their work: it is more difficult to evaluate a candidate without seeing their posture and facial expressions clearly, plus the quality of the connection is often poor. But for job seekers, this is all a plus. In addition, zoom interviews save time on offline travel, it is easier to arrange an interview for a convenient time, since a person can communicate during their working hours, and in general it can be another city or country.

Well, are you normal there?

- I want to note that various types of interviews, "trick questions" are specially designed to check both the adequacy and the qualities of the applicant necessary for the job. No one is trying to bring you to a heart attack or depression, asking how you "will kil social media marketing servicel a giraffe in front of children," - laughs Maria. - If you are a mature, adequate person with pumped up soft skills, the interview will quickly and successfully reveal you. If you do not know how to work in stressful situations, negotiate, quickly do your job, set priorities, etc., then, of course, no company will be interested in you. Since the old methods of hiring did not justify themselves, hundreds of people worked, developing high-quality methods of assessing applicants in order to save time and money for businesses. Hiring is a science and a very interesting job in itself.
Notes on the margins:

Remember, the recruiter is not trying to "drown" you, on the contrary, he aims to effectively identify your abilities and hire a specialist, spending less time on searching and evaluating. Understand this firmly: the recruiter is your friend, not your enemy, and you will feel that interviews will become easier.

Social security-educational program: 4 types in brief

• Biographical

The simplest and most obvious. Here you will be asked about dates - during what exact period of time, where you worked, in what positions, education, job responsibilities, achievements and reasons for leaving.
Lifehack

Focus on achievements. Present not through your skills, but through the prism of what good the company has received from your outstanding abilities.
Prepare your answers to these questions thoughtfully. Think about each one — many of them are not just for information. For example, did you choose where to go or did your parents make the choice for you? The answer will tell recruiters a lot about your character, your ability to withstand pressure, analyze and achieve your goals (if, for example, you subsequently changed your field of activity to the one you chose yourself).
Important!

By law, you should not be discriminated against based on gender, age, race, beliefs, etc., but in practice, women sometimes face questions like "when to give birth" or requests "not to give birth." The IT industry is more advanced and tries to catch up with global standards, however, sexism occurs both in hiring and in the industry in general.
— I only encountered such questions once: they were asked to my candidates, — says Maria. — I had to talk to the manager, convince him that such a thing is unacceptable, but he was adamant. Women usually answer such questions that they do not plan to have children, and if they already have children, they say that grandmothers will be taking sick leave. I advise you to answer that the question is incorrect. Of course, most likely, you will not pass the interview. My opinion as a recruiter: you do not need a job where such questions are asked. At trainings for recruiters, we explain that this is unacceptable. The more specialists know this, and the more often candidates defend their rights, the sooner the situation will change, I think.

In this part of the interview, recruiters try to find out: your motivation (material and not), your understanding of the “manager – employee” relationship, values (honesty, loyalty), communication skills with people (how you will fit into the team) and clients (customer focus), behavior in conflicts (ability to negotiate, pay attention to the problem, convey your point of view).

- A projective interview is based on constructing questions in such a way that they ask the candidate to evaluate not himself, but people in general or some character, - explains Maria. - People tend to transfer their life experience and ideas to the interpretation of the actions of others, as well as to fictional situations, characters, etc.

The trick of a projective interview is that the questions are asked at a fast pace so that the applicant says the first thing that comes to mind, and they are all formulated as if about other people. The recruiter thus “deceives” the respondent’s consciousness and reveals his hidden motives, attitudes, relationships, preferences, values.
